Description

Position Lock Brake; Steel; Bolt-on style; Works with most standard 5-1/4" x 7-1/4" caster plates with holes 3-3/8" to 4-1/8" apart. Requires notched yoke.

Brake kits typically include three components: the brake arm, the brake pedal and the brake axle, which has a shoulder to allow the brake pedal to work freely after tightenign the axle. Brakes kits are usually manufacturer-specific. To fit a brake kit to the caster, the producer of the caster is usually necessary to guarantee compatibility.

To install, remove the axle bolt and wheel from the caster. The axle-bolt will not be reused. Install the brake arm by mounting it to the side of the caster. On most models, a tab on the brake arm will fit into a hole in the caster arm. On other models, the upper part of the brake arm will be inserted into and partially through the hole in the caster arm.

You can adjust the brake clearance and braking force by bending the upper part of the brake so that it makes stronger or weaker contact to match your preference.

Insert the NEW included brake-axle-bolt through the brake pedal, then through the axle hole of the brake arm, then through the yoke, and through the caster wheel. Tighten the axle nut on the axle. Do not over-tighten as it may make the brake impossible to operate (on some models). Tighten to your preference.

Cast iron, forged steel and ductile steel wheels offer the ultimate in load capacity and impact strength. The wheels feature heavy cross section castings for heavy duty use, abrasion resistance and a long service life. They are resistant to abrasions and require minimal effort to start-up and push loads. Built for high capacity applications, the cast iron wheels can withstand extreme heat. These are avialable in a wide variety of sizes, weight capacities, and bearing types.
